Iberian horses originated from the Iberian Peninsula 20,000 years ago and are considered the most ancient line of horses. Cave Paintings and fossil evidence document their origin.
Over the centuries they were refined and trained by Celtic, Roman, Spanish, French, Dutch and Italian cultures.
The natural agility, collection, flexibility and willingness of the Iberian horse lent itself to a warhorse with great advantage. "Airs Above the Ground" were movements off the ground of defense and offense used in the mêlées of war.
